It is very important for the rapid
transportation of Troops and Military stores that the Railroads at
Richmond and Petersburg should be connected. Without such connection
you cannot concentrate the rolling stock, and the movements of the
Army may be very much retarded. |
I will thank you to inform me it the
connection can be made, on what terms, and the earliest moment that
this could be completed. |
