| I have considered the contents of your letter of the
13th inst relative to the repairs of the Fredericksburg Road
{Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR} and
approve the suggestions contained therein, with this modification, |
| The Government is willing to extend its aid in the
undertaking, but it is thought best that the Companies should engage the
extra labor required and so avoid the interference of a third party. The
cost of the extra labor will be defrayed by the Government. |
