I respectfully ask that an order be
published as submitted herewith, it being in accordance with
instructions already given at my request by Hon. Sect. of War. |
I. Captain J. M. Robinson of the Engineers
is relieved from duty with Maj. Genl. Breckenridge & will report
to the QM General for special service in connection with Rail Roads. |
II. Capt. Robinson, under the orders &
instructions of the QM General is charged with general supervision
over R. Road transportation between Richmond & Wilmington, &
is authorized to adopt such means & take such control over the
rolling stock of the various roads as will secure the greatest
efficiency in transporting troops & public stores. Military
Commanders will sustain his authority whenever called upon. |
III. Whenever any Military Commander on the
route, shall need trains for the transportation of troops, he will
promptly notify Capt. Robinson who will make the necessary
arrangements. |
