Sir, |
A large quantity of Commissary stores
will, probably, be accumulated at Clarksville for transportation
southward. I desire you will report to me what is the capacity of the
Roanoke Valley {Rail} Road to move these stores forward. |
If you can use a wagon train in aid of the
Rail road, by transporting these stores to some point on the Raleigh
& Gaston Rail road, it will be advisable to do so. In this way, if
the capacity of the Roanoke Road be not sufficient to take off all the
freight, aiding in its transportation will, to some extent, be as??. |
