Sir, |
Whenever you forward Government stores
munitions &c which are to go beyond the terminus of the road over which
you ship, you will be careful to notify by telegram, or in the absence
of telegraphic communication, by mail, the Quarter Master of the Post at
the terminus, as well of the route by which you forward and the time at
which he may expect the supplies to arrive. |
On receiving such information yourself you will make
every effort to have the supplies forwarded without delay by the
connecting line, and will report promptly to this office any neglect
that may occur on the part of a rail road company. |
