I am today informed by Colonel Wadley of
the following recommendation made by him to the Secretary of War: he
says, |
"I have recommended the payment of 3
cts per mile for transportation of troops, and for freight 25 miles,
15 cts 50 miles, 55 cts 75 miles, 35 cts 100 miles, 45 cts 125 miles,
50 cts 150 miles, 55 cts 175 miles, 60 cts and 200, 65 cts per 100
lbs. Hay and stock to be rated at 12,000 lbs per car load, and
ammunition double rates. All of which has been approved by the
Secretary of War." |
