| In reply to your communication of the
11th instant, enclosing a letter from Mr Magrath, President, South
Carolina Rail Road, I have to inform you that, there is a Rail Road
Convention now in session in this city. I greatly regret that the idea
of an unfavorable discrimination should exist, but I have no power to
modify the rates allowed, the authority over Rail Road Transportation
having been exercised by Colonel Wadley since December last. |
