| In reply to your communication of the 9th
instant, relative to a supply of iron for the Alabama &
Mississippi {Rivers} Rail Road, I have to
inform you, that the iron (eight tons pig) can be furnished, if the
supply thereof can be made without injury to the Department. |
| The market value of the iron thus
furnished will be credited on the transportation account of the Road. |
