Sir, |
In your letter of March 11th 1863, you ask
for authority to dispose of some lumber to the Virginia Central Rail
Road Company, which was purchased by the Government, with a view to
constructing a bridge over the Cowpasture River. |
As I am not aware of any present necessity for the
erection of a bridge over the Cowpasture, and the lumber is greatly
needed by the Central Road, you can make sale thereof on fair terms. |
