Sir, |
There are seven boxes of books at
Vicksburg, which with the six boxes at Jackson, Judge Perkins of
Louisiana desires to have transported to Montgomery. |
I request that you will apply to the
Presidents of the Rail Road Companies, and express to them my strong
desire that transportation may be afforded for these boxes from both
Jackson, and Vicksburg, to Montgomery. Those at Vicksburg are in the
custody of Messrs Cobb Manlove & Co. and all of them can be consigned to
Major Calhoun at Montgomery by whom the proper disposition will be made
of them. |
These books are valuable and Judge Perkins
desires to have them gotten together. I will be much gratified if the
transportation can be procured from the authorities of the Roads between
the points above referred to. |
