I feel the force of what you say
concerning the repairs needed by certain Rail Road lines. I am
powerless in the matter, however; the Government has always refused to
exercise any authority over the Roads; and as things stand at present,
Colonel Wadley, who can be addressed at Augusta, Georgia, is charged
by General Order No. 98, with the duty of making all contracts, and
arrangements of a general character with Rail Road Companies. |
