| As it is impossible to convey
passengers & transport the necessary provisions to Richmond, the
accumulation of private travelers at points between this & Augusta
Geo. is causing great embarrassment. I respectfully request that all
commandants of posts between Richmond & Augusta inclusive be
instructed to issue no passports except to persons traveling on
Government business. Please send by telegraph. |
