The forage is so low in Richmond that it
is absolutely necessary to the support of the animals of General Lee's
Army that the forage from Burkesville should be brought to Richmond as
soon as possible. I must request you to give it preference over all
other freight, and have it brought here at once. Please let me know if
you cannot in some 4000 bushels {about 14 cars
-- an entire train} today. |
