Mr. E. H. Gill |
Genl. Supt etc {Superintendent,
Richmond & Petersburg RR} |
|
Sir, |
The forage is so low in Richmond that it
is absolutely necessary to the support of the animals of General Lee's
Army that the forage from Petersburg should be brought to Richmond as
soon as possible. I must request you to give it preference over all
other freight, and have it brought here at once. I am advised of the
arrival in the City of Petersburg on yesterday of two thousand bags of
corn from Weldon consigned to Major Whitfield. Please let me know if
you cannot bring this over to the City of Richmond today. |
