It is not advisable to send an Agent to
Georgia to purchase Corn, for the Army about Petersburg, or for general
distribution. There is already more grain, stored there, than can be
well preserved. The difficulty is one of transportation, and I am now
doing all in my power to remove that, as far as it may be practicable. |
