Major L. F. Johnson |
Quarter Master Eufaula Ala |
|
Sir, |
I have written to Captain A. M. Allen A.
C. S. Columbus, Geo. in regard to the accumulation of corn at Albany and
other points on the South Western Rail Road; and have also instructed Mr
Wooldridge Agent Quarter Master's Department at Albany, to have the corn
transported from that point, as soon as practicable, so that the danger
of loss from heating and souring may be avoided. Captain Allen will
designate what portion of this corn belongs to the Quarter Master's
Department, and my idea is that by removing it to other points such as
Eufaula, the danger of spoiling will be lessened. |
I desire you to consult with Captain Allen
and arrange to have the best possible disposition made of this
accumulated supply, until it can be transported for consumption. |
