I have just instructed Major E. McLean to
pay an account of $12,000 -- the value of a lot of 20 {freight}
cars purchased by the Government, and recently put into the
charge of the East Tenn & Va RR Company. While the cars were so
employed one car was destroyed by that company, and its value $600
will have to be collected from the next transportation account. To
that end I notify you of the fact. |
