Your letter of the 21st instant has been received. |
The statement you make of the circumstances under which
the hay referred to by Captain Gammon, was taken, shews that it was a
pressing necessity, that you were not informed to what officer the hay
belonged, and that you endorsed on the Way-Bill, or Manifest, the fact
of the taking, and the reason which made it necessary. |
This is deemed entirely satisfactory, and Captain
Gammon has been so informed. |
