Major A. A. Burleson |
Qr. Master |
Knoxville, Tenn. |

Sir, |
You will pay to Campbell Wallace, Esq., of
Knoxville the sum of two thousand dollars, for his services in taking possession
and working the East Tennessee & Virginia Railroad, under the
orders of Gen. Zollicoffer, who was directed to take military
possession of that road. |
The amount thus to be paid to Mr. Wallace
is to be re-imbursed to the Government, by deducting it from the
claims of the E. T. & Virga Railroad {East
Tennessee & Virginia RR} against the Government for
transportation of freights, etc; and in settlements made with that R.
Road you will be governed accordingly. |
