| I beg to assure you that I will be
satisfied with any arrangement you may order for the rebuilding of
Rail Roads, and wish the officers of this Department to cooperate in
every way practicable. |
| I only called your attention to Hottels
orders because the War Department had assigned this whole business to
the Engineer Bureau, and the Qr. Master Department has more on its
hands than all the other Bureaus together. |
