Sir, |
Your letter of the 15th instant to the
Secretary of War, has been referred to this bureau. |
Your application that any spades, shovels,
axes, or picks, you may be able to have collected from the camps of
the enemy, near Fredericksburg, for the use of the Virginia Central
Rail Road, is deemed unobjectionable. This letter will, therefore,
serve as an order to all officers or agents of this Department, not to
seize such of the above named tools, as may be collected by your
agents, for that purpose. |
