Sir, |
Major Le Baron, Quarter Master Mobile, Alabama, has
estimated for $225,000, for payment of the Alabama & Mississippi Rivers
Rail Road, up to the 1st of December. The remittance was requested on
the 22d of October, and a draft for the amount was sent on the 11th of
November. |
The funds are, therefore, most probably in the hands of
Major Le Baron, now, the only obstacle to their receipt, being the
possible temporary inability of the Depository at Mobile to meet the
draft. |
I suggest that Mr Bacock should again apply to Captain
Graham, by whom the accounts were audited. He can renew his application
to Major Le Baron, for the necessary funds with the benefit of the above
information in regard to the remittance. |
