Sir, |
Some days since a lady arrived in Richmond,
with a pair of mules & ambulance, which she said she had brought from
Texas, having obtained Rail Road Transportation from then from Jackson
here. Desirous of knowing upon what orders the transportation was given
Capt McMackin, Transportation Qr Mr at Jackson was written to, who
replies that no such transportation was ever given from his office. You
will please examine the records of your office for the past few months
and furnish this office with any information you can obtain on the
subject, either in this or any other way. The lady introduced herself as
Mrs Genl. Bankhead. |
