Quartermaster General's Department |
Richmond, Nov. 7th 1863 |
|
Gen. R. E. Lee |
Commanding |
Army of No. Virginia |
|
General, |
Enclosed I transmit a telegram received
from the Superintendent of the {Virginia} Central
Road, in regard to the late arrival of the train at Brandy Station. |
It would seem that the delays which you
brought to the notice of this Department, were probably accidental and
that their recurrence may not be anticipated. |
In the condition of the Rail Road, faster
time would be hazardous, and the inconvenience of leaving Richmond at
an earlier hour than 7 a.m. would probably be very great, during the
winter months. |
