Sir, |
Complaints have been made to the Department of the
occurrence of unnecessary delays upon the Wilmington & Manchester Rail
Road with transportation of voluntary contributions of clothing and
hospital stores for soldiers in service from the State of Ala, in charge
of Mr S D Watson the transportation agent of that state. |
The great importance of the speedy transportation for
soldiers in the field of articles of necessity & comfort contributed by
their friends at home will be readily appreciated by you and I bring
this instance of delay to your attention with the request that you will
give such instructions as will prevent its occurrence in similar cases
hereafter. |
