| Report to me immediately on the receipt of
this, what amount of cotton you have purchased for the benefit of this
Department; stating price per lb and present locality of same. Let me
know also, what your arrangements and prospects are for investing, in a
like manner, any unexpended balance of funds remitted for the purchase
of cotton. Inform me of any special difficulty in the way of
transporting this cotton, you may have on hand, to Wilmington; and add
any suggestions of a general character bearing upon purchases of this
character, that your recent experience may prompt. |
