Quartermaster General's Department |
Richmond, Oct. 13th 1863 |
|
Brig. Gen. Francis T. Nichols |
Commanding Post |
Lynchburg, Va. |
|
General, |
I have received your letter of the 9th
instant, stating that you had given instructions to the Quarter Master
at Lynchburg to furnish transportation to Richmond via Charlottesville
{using the Orange & Alexandria and Virginia
Central RRs}, instead of by the South Side and {Richmond
&} Danville Rail Road{s}. |
I am informed that the variance in the
schedules of these two Roads, has been corrected, and that hereafter
there will be no difficulty in the connections being made at
Burkesville. It will not be necessary, therefore, to give the
instructions to Captain Faulkner which you request. |
