In obedience to your instructions, I have
the honor to report 1st That three thousand (3000) tons of iron rails
have been furnished to the Winchester & Potomac rail road company
under the contract made with that company for the delivery of the iron
taken from the Baltimore & Ohio road. 2nd That about one hundred
and fifty (150) tons have been laid on the tract of the Winchester
& Potomac road. 3rd The price to be paid is fifty dollars per ton.
4th The amount now due to that company from the Government for
transportation is two thousand one hundred and seventy eight 02/100
dollars ($2,178.02). This amount does not include that due for the
month of December, which has not been ascertained. |
