| The Quarter Master General desires
me to transmit to you the following extract from a telegram received
from General Johnston. Most of the bad corn received here
forwarded from Fort Gaines by Major Scales -- refused by Capt. Head
but received and forwarded by Major Michaeloffsky, Macon. |
| The Quarter Master General orders that
damaged corn be forwarded under no circumstances as
transportation is even more scarce than provisions. |
