Nearly all the corn for your Army is
purchased by Captain Head, and his Agents, who is under your orders,
as he was ordered on that duty by General Bragg. Do you desire a
change in this arrangement? Railroad Transportation is deficient
everywhere, but I think Major Hottle, who has charge of this business
in Atlanta, accomplishes all that can be done. Please look into his
management in detail, through your Chief Quarter Master, or otherwise,
before you insist on another officer taking his place. I will be happy
to forward your views. |
