I have just heard of very serious damage
to Piedmont Road from heavy rains, & request that no furloughs be
granted for 10 days to go South except to those able to walk across
the gap to Stoney Creek. Meanwhile every possible effort is being made
by borrowing from farmers & by wagon trains to supply your army. |
