| On the 9th May inst I stated to you that
it would promote the public interest to erect a store-house on lands
owned by the Alabama & Florida {(of Alabama)}
Railroad at the Depot in Montgomery free use of the land
having been granted, and asked your approval of such a building.
Your consent was given, a contract entered into on approved plan and
specifications, for three thousand dollars -- the building is now
well advanced. |
| In this connection I beg leave to state
that the deficiency of cars on the Alabama & Florida railroad is a
serious impediment to the rapid transportation of public supplies to
Pensacola. The President of the road should put upon it at once
additional cars. |
