| I have made "enquiry into the facts
connected with the contract for the Bridge per mess Anderson Co" and
report as you direct. |
| In June last Anderson Co took an order
from the Virginia Central Rail Road. Pressing engagements from the
Government have prohibited their doing the work. The Bridge is very
much needed, and it is for the "Sec of War" to determine if the work
shall be done -- it will delay ??ably the completion of Field guns
occasionally for a period of one month. |
