States that he has taken charge of E. Tenn
& Va RR. 130 miles Main, Mil & Trans. line broken down. Large quantity
of freight accumulated. Found nearly all motive power & cars broken.
Scarcity of Water. Is now beginning to make things work. Can now run 6
trains a day. Hopes in 3 days to work all the power he has collected.
Requests the withdrawal of the Agents & Asst Qmrs who confuse
operations. C N Q Wallace was of much importance in keeping the business
of the road going. |
