States that P H Mayo, agt of QM Dept,
assigned to him for duty has been informed by enrolling officer that his
appt by QMG, approved by Sec of War, does not exempt him from
conscription. Mr Mayo's services are invaluable & he wishes his case to
receive immediate attention. Encloses copy of appt. |

there are several cases of a similar character in the Dept & Sec of War
has informed me that his approval of the appt is equivalent t exemption.

exempt & cannot under state law be retained unless infirm. They may be
detailed for 40 days as enrollment will not be reqd before that time &
