States that Genl T. J. Jackson is anxious
to get his forces from the mountains to Winchester with expedition. Genl
Lorring has ordered them to march from the Warm Springs to Staunton. R.
R. transportation is wanted from Milboro' to Staunton
{31 miles} to bring down supplies, wagons,
harnesses &c. He has written to Mr Whitcomb
{Superintendent, Virginia Central RR} asking for an engine & 10
cars to run between Staunton & Milboro' until 1st Jany. Genl Lorring
says he can furnish if wanted, from his comd. Hopes you will have the
arrangement made with the C. R. R. |
