Subsistence Dept are feeding droves of
cattle on line of C & SC RR {Charlotte & South
Carolina RR} in direct route by rail to Va & using tithe corn for
purpose. Suggests that they might be sent to Dist. of Lancaster where
corn is plentiful & no RR to transport it. States Maj Troutman CS is
collecting tithe corn in the ear for transportation to Charleston while
corn is much nearer that city by rail & that this corn ought to go to
Va. |
