transportation on {Wilmington &} Manchester

Respectfully retd to QMG. The books of the
W&M RR show that from the 13 to 25 Nov (besides moving Genl Claymans
brigade which occupied four or five days) 6182 Sacks = 12362 bus corn
{about 115 car loads} had been carried in
its own cars & the Wilmington Foreign trains had carried in addition
7301 Sacks 11 working days of 26964 bus on average of 2450 bus
{about 15 car loads} a day. If the other
line will do as well I can se no reason for interfering with passenger
train. |

Richmond Va Maj Sims endorsement presents sufficient reason why the
course indicated by Maj Carrington should not be adopted and therefore,
it is deemed expedient at the present time to approve the application of
Maj C. |
