| With reference to the transportation of
sugar to Richmond from Vicksburg, says that parties in charge of
transportation at Vicksburg require a large amount to be paid as a kind
of bribe, suggests an examination and report, and that if one through
train a week were devoted to the purpose the whole supply would be
forwarded in 30 days. |
