& Demopolis. Wants Commy Genl to sell them provisions. |

| Resply refd to Commy Genl. I beg leave to
join earnestly in the request of Col Rieves. I am satisfied it is of
great importance to have this link in the railway chain promptly
completed & supplies can easily be reached through the Commy Genl. I beg
that instruction be given to the Commy at Meridian for that purpose. |
