Respectfully returned to the Commissary
General. I have no authority that reaches the difficulty. I cannot
compel the Railroad Companies to carry Govt freight except on the terms
they may prescribe when the ordinary course is departed from. I do not
know what better to suggest than that agents be sent with large
shipments of bacon when they are made in loose form. A. C. Myers, Q. M.
