States that a conference of the officers of
the different RRs in this state was held during the past week in
consequence of precarious condition of said roads & that if something is
not done to advance the pay of artisans, mechanics & to provide food for
negroes employed the workshops will be closed. States that funds must be
supplied to meet daily expenses. |
