Feb 1/65 Retd this office. The only
impressment of any engine that has come to my knowledge, engaged in
carrying salt was one purporting to be under contract with State of
Georgia & thus really did not amount to an impressment as an arrangement
was made for its use. No cars were ever impressed. Would it not be
easier for the Govt of No Ca to name the engine as well as the time &
circumstances of the act than to make the charge so indefinitely. F W
