Dear Sir, |
Colaparches is the post office but
Crawford is the Rail Road Station at which I presumed your wood will
be delivered at. the freight from that Station on wood is $1.50 per
cord if loaded by Shipper and Unloaded by Consigner. If loaded by
Company 50c per cord extra will be charged and still one day an
additional 50c for unloading. It is doubtful when we can furnish cars
to transport the wood as the Government are now shipping from Savh
Eight hundred tons of Iron {about 100 car loads}
to the Rolling Mill at Atlanta and we have barely cars to
transport it on. And again wood is very scarce in that section not
enough for our company to run their Locomotives, and we are compeled
to purchase wood on the Macon & Brunswick Road for that purpose,
and would much prefer for you if possible, to get your wood on the
line of some other Road. |
Yours Very Respectfully |
