Dear Sir,

I just had an interview with Genl Polk and I wish you to
send out your passenger train this evening upon your usual time, and
continue to run both your Passenger & freight train as usual, but
see that no Passenger passes over your train except those who may have
Passports either from the Adjutant Genl. or J. T. Morgan agent. I wish
further that no mail or express matter passes over the train until
further notice. The Telegraph Office in the depot must be discontinued
immediately until further notice, Genl Polk wishes the train men at
Humboldt, that was due this morning at 9:40 brought in forthwith as it
has both officers and soldiers, give orders first to proceed to
Memphis at once. These instructions I wish strictly observed.
