| There is a quantity of Oil at Columbus
belonging to the Government which was purchased or seized by
Genl. Slaughter in Memphis just previous to the evacuation, for the
use of the Rail Roads. |
| This Company is now unable to obtain at
any price oil suitable for head lights and lamps, and I ask that
the Quarter Master there be instructed to sell thirty (30) Barrels for
use on this Road. |
