This Agreement made and entered into this 3d day of May 1864 by and
between A. C. Delettre of Pulaski Co. Ga. party of the first part and
James H. Burton Supt. of Armories for and on behalf of the Confederate
States party of the second part.

Witnesseth: |
That the said A. C. Delettre hereby
obligates and binds himself to furnish and deliver on the cars of the
Macon & Brunswick R. Road for the service of the C. S. Armory
Macon Ga., one thousand (1000) cords of pine wood and two hundred
(200) cords of mixed hard wood, oak, hickory &c all to be cut in 4
feet lengths and delivered at the rate of two hundred and fifty (250)
cords per week commencing from date measurement to be made on the cars
{requiring about 50 cars per week}. That
in consideration of the faithful performance of the aforesaid
obligations and undertakings by the said A. C. Delettre, the said
James H. Burton Supt of Armories hereby obligates and binds himself
for and on behalf of the Confederate States to pay for all the wood
delivered, at the price of nine (9) dollars per cord for the pine, and
eleven (11) dollars per cord for the hardwood. |
Payment to be made monthly on all wood
delivered, less twenty (20) per cent retained until completion of
contract. |
In Testimony Whereof the said parties have hereunto affixed their
hands and seals the day and year first above written.
