Major, |
On my return from an absence of several
days I find your letter of the 15th inst. |
I am much obliged by the promptness with
which the cars of train of lumber sent to Pitts & Cook were despatched. |
I have now a quantity of cut stone at
Stone Mountain, being a portion of that furnished by Wood, Meador & Co.,
for the buildings now being erected here under my orders, and greatly
need it, as my bricklayers are fast approaching the stage of work at
which they must have the cut stone sills or stop their labors. Wood,
Meador, & Co., write to me that they cannot get transportation for the
stone from the Ga. R. R. Co. I respectfully request that you will
facilitate in any way in your power the transportation of this stone to
Macon. |
3 or 4 cars would, I believe, be
sufficient to carry what is on hand at present. |
I am, Major, &c. |
