Mr J. E. Tooke
Marshallville

Sir,
I have read your letter of the 4th inst.
A railroad train will go down for wood on Wednesday, the day after tomorrow, as already arranged and I will make every exertion to have the next of the wood hauled as rapidly as possible by the Railroad Co.
You will of course not be held responsible under your contract for any delay which may be caused by the Railroad Company.
As regards the occupation of the switch at Marshallville I have already told you personally that the Railroad Company does not wish you to deliver your wood alongside the switch but will receive it anywhere on the main line (a little above or a little below the switch,) so that there is no difficulty on this score.
If you find any other difficulty in putting your wood upon the cars, let me know, and I will see the Superintendent of the R/R with regard to the matter.
I am, Sir,
Respectfully &c
J W Mallet, Capt.
Supt. C. S. Laboratories
