Sir, |
On the 21st inst. I wrote to you for forty
five (45) barrels of lime under your contract of Nov. 20 notifying you
at the same time that I had written to Mr. J. E. Appler Agt. of Montgy &
West Pt R. Rd. {Montgomery & West Point RR}
at Columbus requesting him to furnish transportation for the lime. This
was done by request of your agt., Mr. Pollard, who recently called upon
me on this subject. |
I am today in receipt of a letter from Mr.
J. E. Appler, in which he states that cars which have been left at the
works for lime for the Confederate States works at Macon have been
loaded and sent to other points. |
I write now to remark that this must not
occur with regard to transportation furnished for the lime for works
under my orders and to request that you will make application to Mr.
Appler for the transportation in question at once, and will without
delay send forward the lime, of which I am in daily need. |
I am Sir, |
Very respectfully |
J. W. Mallet, Capt. |
